A BULAWAYO man and ex-footballer has been stopped from forcibly having sex with his wife in foil view of their teenage children.
Tearfully giving evidence, Gertrude Khanye, a hairdresser said their children aged 15, 12, three and two were now traumatised as a result of her husband, Ndumiso Khanye's weird order of forcing her to romp in front of them.
Gertrude opened up her fairytale ordeal at the Bulawayo Civil Court where she was seeking a protection order against Ndumiso saying he was sexually, physically and psychologically abusing her.
In an apparent reference to the phrase, "an idle mind is the devil's workshop", Gertrude repeatedly said she has had enough of her unemployed husbands abusive demeanour.
"I am married to Ndumiso in terms of the Marriage Act Chapter 5:11 and the marriage still subsists. The respondent is very violent and is physically, verbally, sexually and emotionally abusing me. The latest incident being on 7 April when he came home drunk and started assaulting me after I had asked him to close the gate which he had left open. As if that was not enough he then proceeded to insult me and forced me to have sex with him while our children were watching saying I am his wife so I should obey his orders.
"He is always forcing me to have sex with him in front of our children and our children are now living in fear of their father because of his abusive behaviour and I am now asking the court's intervention by a protection order
Perhaps fearing for a potential dress down, Ndumiso did not come to the court and presiding magistrate Maryiene Mtshina granted a default judgment in favour of his wife which compels him not to verbally, physically, sexually and psychologically abuse.
