Following the election of Emmanuel Macron on 7 May to the French presidency, Cameroon's head of state Paul Biya sent a congratulatory letter to his new counterpart.

Emmanuel Macron, candidate of the movement "En Marche" won on Sunday May 7 the second round of the presidential election with 66.1% against 33.9% for its rival Marine Le Pen.
