Kim Kardashian is suing MediaTakeOutfor falsely claiming she “staged” her Paris robbery. Gossip Cop called out the webloid last week for its untrue story wrongly alleging the reality star lied about being robbed at gunpoint.
As Gossip Cop reported at the time, MediaFakeOut’s headline blared, “MTO Shock Exclusive: New Evidence Suggests… Kim Kardashian And Her Mother ‘STAGED’ The Robbery… Just Like RYAN LOCHTE!! (Here Are The FACTS) #KimRobbery.” Citing “people on social media,” the site said “it is starting to look like Kim may have STAGED THE ENTIRE ROBBERY.” As “proof,” the outlet put forth a number of unsubstantiated theories, which Gossip Cop debunked in our bust.
That was followed by another post from MTO that declared, “French Authorities SUSPECT Kim Kardashian Of
‘LYING’… Suspect That She Is The One… Who ‘LET THE ROBBERS IN’!!!” And in a third story, it was noted that Kardashian had filed an insurance claim for her stolen jewelry. But the bad blog accused, “If she faked the robbery… she just committed a FEDERAL CRIME.” All three stories were without any evidence to back them up.
Kardashian’s attorney, Marty Singer, demanded the unscrupulous outlet retract these false claims. And now those same posts state, “Story removed.” But MTO left all the comments on each article, and has not taken any responsibility for spreading the untrue information.
Now Kardashian is suing the webloid for defamation, and a lawsuit was filed in federal court on Tuesday. In the legal documents, obtained by Gossip Cop, Singer says, “After having been the victim of a horrific and traumatic armed robbery in France, Kim Kardashian returned to the United States only to again be victimized, but this time by an online gossip tabloid.” It’s said MTO falsely claimed “Kardashian faked the robbery, lied about the violent assault, and then filed a fraudulent claim with her insurance company to bilk her carrier out of millions of dollars.”

It’s further said, “Kardashian has suffered general and special damages in an amount not presently known to her but believed to be not less than the jurisdictional minimum of this Court, including damage to Kardashian’s reputation and standing in the community, shame, mortification, hurt feelings, embarrassment, and humiliation.”
MTO, of course, is the same outlet Kardashian’s husband Kanye West slammed as “so f*ckin’ full of sh*t” a couple of years ago. Gossip Cop has reached out to both Singer and MediaTakeOut for comment. We’ll have updates.
