Jim Carrey is being sued for the wrongful death of his late girlfriend,Cathriona White, by her mom Brigid Sweetman. White’s mother alleges in a new lawsuit that the comedic actor gave White STDs and provided her with the illegal drugs she used to kill herself.

As Gossip Cop reported, White committed suicide by intentionally overdosing on drugs, including painkillers and sleeping pills, in September 2015. The 30-year-old makeup artist and Carrey had dated on and off for several years prior to her death. As we also noted, White’s estranged husband, Mark Burton, filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Carrey in September, making the same allegations against the actor that are now being leveled by his mother-in-law.

In a statement released Tuesday, Sweetman said, “As a family, we want the world to know the truth about who Jim Carrey really is — a man that will give your daughter three STDs, lie about it, call her terrible names and demean her, use his high-priced lawyers to try and shut her and her family up, and then give her illegal drugs.” Sweetman further claims Carrey ended his relationship with her daughter after she confronted him about STDs, then hired “fixers” to keep her quiet.

In her lawsuit, which was filed in a Los Angeles court, Sweetman describes Carrey as “pure evil,” “heartless,” “exploitative,” “despicable,” and “opportunistic,” among other adjectives.Gossip Cop has reached out to Carrey’s reps for comment, but we’ve yet to hear back.
