A 15-YEAR-OLD hooker from Hopley has narrated her ordeals which include being deliberately infected with se_xually transmitted diseases by cruel clients.
The hooker, whose name has been withheld as she is still a minor, said she joined the world’s oldest profession last year because of numerous challenges.
“I started being a hooker last year in November.
“And I decided to be a hooker because of the difficulties of life, like even failing to feed myself and also failing to get any food and a place to stay.
“I have so many challenges because I’m an orphan.
“Ndanga ndisina pekutangira saka ndakabva ndangoti rega ndingoyenda kubhawa. My parents died when I was still in Form 2 that’s when I dropped out of school and started doing this.
“Kuva hure kwakawoma nekuti unogona kuwana murume anokuitira hutsinye, anongona kuti akubhadhara mari anogona kukuputitsira kana protector (condom) zvekuti dzimweni dzenguva tinotomboita siki (se_xually transmitted diseases) totoyenda kuMbare totonorapwa kuEdith (Edith Opperman Maternity Centre) uko,” said the hooker.
During the interview, she looked intoxicated as she expressed herself with a resigned tone of voice.
She also said the risks they face have led to her plea for help so that she can at least leave pr_ostitution as it continues to be more and more dangerous.
“It’s really a difficult life that we live because you get to seek medication many times in your life because the health risks are real.
“Protector rinoputitswa nekuti anenge achida kukuitira hutsinye kuti akupe siki.”
Asked how many men she has slept with ever since she started prostitution last year, the girl said “aaah handitorina kana number yacho, vakawandisa.”
This reporter went on to further ask her how much she charges for each se_x session and she said “haa I charge US$1. Ndotongipiwa US$1 kusvika iye akunzwa kuti aneta.
“The men will come and tell you that that’s the money they have, anotokuudza kuti ndiyo mari iripo.
“I usually operate in bars around here in Hopley but I also go to town, kupi kupi, zvekuti totombosvika ku Beatrice to several bars in a bid to get other clients who may pay more.”
Without giving proof or saying more, the hooker claimed to have three kids saying that her youngest is six months old.
Under Zimbabwean law, se_x with a minor is a crime as one will face allegations of contravening Section 70 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act Chapter 9:23.
And indeed this hooker is a minor but the challenge is that she will not make a complaint as this is her chosen profession.
And one hopes that the pledge made by philanthropist Dr Killer Zivhu through his foundation will come to fruition so that he can help the self confessed hookers especially this child, who is a mere 15 year old.
