A GLEN Norah man, Shepherd Mhako, appeared at the Mbare Magistrates’ Court yesterday facing an attempted murder charge after he allegedly threw his wife through their apartment’s first floor window, accusing her of cheating on him.

Mhako (40) was not asked to plead when he appeared before magistrate Stanford Mambanje.

He was remanded in custody to July 14 and advised to apply for bail at the High Court.

The State alleges that on Tuesday, Mhako accused his wife, whose name was not disclosed in court papers, of having an extramarital affair before assaulting her.

Mhako allegedly battered his wife with open hands and fists all over the body and then threw her out of the couple’s first floor’s apartment window.

The court heard that Mhako’s wife sustained a broken right leg and was rushed to hospital for treatment. Daniel Muchimbiri appeared for the State. NewsDay
