A 26-year-old woman in recovering in a Colorado hospital in the USA after an attack that left in a serious condition and her unborn baby girl dead.
On Wednesday, the victim was attacked by 34-year-old Dynel Catrece Lane whose motive is still unknown.
The two women did not know each other prior to the attack – the victim made her way to Lane’s home alone as a response to an advert on baby clothing.
Lane allegedly beat the victim in the stomach repeatedly before she stabbed her and removed her foetus, her injuries are indicative of the use of sharp weapons such as a knife and pieces of glass.
The perpetrator reportedly rushed to the hospital with the unborn baby claiming that she had a miscarriage, her husband accompanied her but has not been identified as a suspect in the violent crime.
Lane is expected to appear in court on Thursday on charges of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and child abuse resulting in death, more charges could be added later on. Drum
