A High Court judge ruled on Wednesday that Advocate Nelson Chamisa is not the legitimate leader of the MDC, that the party must hold an extraordinary congress within a month using 2014 structures.

The court further ruled that the vice-presidential appointments made by late party leader Tsvangirai are null and void. The court has ordered the party to convene an extraordinary congress within a month.

Breaking News: Court Removes Chamisa As MDC President

Commenting on the judgement journalist Nqaba Matshazi said, "Importantly, what this judgement says is that by using 2014 structures, Chamisa wasn't Vice President of MDC, meaning that Thokozani Khupe is the leader of the MDC."
