The funeral of the late Bishop of Bafia, begun this Wednesday, August 2, 2017 by putting in beer at the morgue of the General Hospital of Yaounde, are currently continuing at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Victories of Yaounde.
Beyond the bishops who surrounded the conditions of his tragic death, Bishop Jean Marie Benoît Bala began his last journey to the land of his ancestors on Wednesday, August 2, 2017.
The setting in beer followed by the lifting of the body took place this morning around 9 am at the morgue of the general hospital of Yaounde in the presence of a heteroclite crowd, people from all social strata. The emotion was at its height.
Head of State Paul Biya was represented at the morgue by Laurent Esso, the Minister of Justice, while Pope Francis was represented by Piero Pioppo, the Apostolic Nuncio in Cameroon.
Before taking the road for a Mass in the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Victories, located in downtown Yaounde, Monsignor Jean Mbarga, Metropolitan Archbishop of Yaounde said a short mass. On occasion he prayed for the rest of Bishop Bala. He also asked God to receive the soul of the Bishop of Bafia before inviting the faithful to keep courage.
The remains of Bishop Bala are currently at the cathedral for the funeral suite. The burial is scheduled tomorrow Thursday 03 August 2017 in Bafia

9h Lifting of the body at the morgue of the general hospital of Yaoundé.
* Mass in the Cathedral of Our Lady of Victories in Yaounde.
* Departure to Bafia.
* Welcome of the Monsignor's body to the bridge of Ebebda by the faithful of the diocese of Bafia, reduced speed of the procession.
The same goes for Balamba and Ombessa.
* Welcome at the entrance of the city of Bafia by the faithful, reduced speed of the procession.
* Installation of the remains in the Cathedral of Bafia.
Mass at 18:00. Mass every three hours.
Mass at 9pm, at 24h, at 03h and at 06h.

10h Mass of Requiem, followed by burial.
