“The unfortunate incident happened on Independence Day when I was on my way to a show in Guruve.

“It had been a busy weekend for me and maybe it was just fatigue because I had back to back shows the whole Easter weekend,” he said.

The young Igwe was travelling with his rhythm guitarist Evidence ‘Baba Gari’ Tarabuku and their car hit a pothole before veering off the road into a bushy area.

“I didn’t notice the pothole, I drove straight into it and lost control of the vehicle before it went straight into a bushy area.

“We fixed the car and proceeded to the show,” he said.

Asked whether misfortune is trailing him, the musician said it was just a normal accident.

“I see no foul play in this accident; these are just normal accidents that happen to all people especially if you spend much time on the roads.”

Away from the accident, Peter, is looking forward to give his fans another polished album.

The musician says he finished the recording process for his third album titled Mopao Mokonzi.

The title simply means ‘I’m the big boss’ and the musician is currently sampling songs off the album at his live shows.

“The album is ready and we can’t wait to give it to the fans, we are continuously giving it a listen in the studio and perfecting every instrument,” he said.

On December 31, 2015, the musician and four of his band members were involved in car accident along the Masvingo-Beitbridge highway.

Again in December, 2012, his whole band had a serious road accident 10km from Kadoma on their way to a show in Harare.
