Econet founder Strive Masiyiwa was caught lying on Social media over the recent tariff increase.
Contrary to popular belief that POTRAZ was stifling social media,It has emerged Econet ‘begged’ the regulator for a price increase in which POTRAZ refused.One user the responded with solid facts.
Please econet don’t lie. The decision to increase tariffs came from you the Telecom Mobile Operators and not Potraz . You told Potraz that you are failing to cover your costs and you wanted an increase . You econet specifically asked for a 5 cents increase per 1MB . POTRAZ refused to grant you the 5 cents and opted to increase to 2 cents per 1MB. You got angry and decided to increase your tariffs to 10 cents per 1MB !!! Your thinking was that people were going to revolt against the gvt . But instead people revolted against you !!! Your own colleagues in the Telecom industry refused to follow your sinister and evil plot and you are now exposed and now you are issuing a false statement again proclaiming that the increase came from Potraz . Please be honest !!! Potraz never asked you to charge 10 cents per 1MB !!!
