Faced with the slowdown in the historical opposition and its inability to unite a consensus candidate, 30 political parties including the Alliance of Progressive Forces of Bernard Muna, Universe party of Prof. Mvondo Nkou and a good frank civil society are preparing to co-opt Dr. Christopher Fomunyoh to face Paul Biya in 2018, with the added bonus of several million dollars from a powerful American lobby.


La Vitrine newspaper in its edition of July 5, 2016 writes that already 30 parties are for the Pan Africanist candidature.Till date no opposition political party is in a position to win an election at national level because of many reasons which include low level mobilization, lack of credibility,as well as low human and financial capacity.

For many political party leaders in Cameroon, participation in elections is an opportunity to rebuild their financial strength through the campaign funds or bribes.It is also an opportunity to divide the electorate and encourage the regime which is faced with this deadlock of optical change and paradigm to offer our beloved Cameroon the chance of alternating power ,a great democratic leap that will better the future for all our compatriots .

Everyone has seen his great presence in the ten regions of the country supporting the most vulnerable, comforting the needy and inviting youth to excell through education and love of their country.Dr. Fomunyoh can be this providential man who dreams of a Cameroon with a common denominator of the collective Cameroonian.

He has many advantages that few people in the Cameroonian political space can match.
He has an excellent intellectual and professional background, great experience of administration and management of people at national and international level, a love and a passionate commitment to his country and his people.

Dr. Fomunyoh has the capacity to mobilize all citizens, beyond ethnic, tribal, regional, linguistic or political. Who is Christopher Fomunyoh?
In his biography Dr. Christopher Fomunyoh was born on the 14th of August 1956 in Guzang, in Momo Division, North West Region Cameroon. Dr. Christopher Fomunyoh is founding president of the Fomunyoh Foundation ( www.tffcam.org ), a non governmental and non-profit organizations involved in the areas of democracy, social and humanitarian Cameroon. Since its launch in 1999, the Foundation headquartered in Bamenda, organizes training seminars and capacity building for civil society organizations and journalists. he also conduct activities in partnership with developing structures such as women Bonadalé, Douala in the Littoral and the chiefdom Foto Dschang in the West.
The Foundation also made donations of books in several municipalities and academic institutions in all regions of Cameroon and the political capital Yaounde. The Foundation has a community radio and a public library of over 20,000 books.

Since the 1990s years on the international level, Dr. Christopher Fomunyoh devoted himself to political development de- emerging democracies in Africa. As Regional Director for Africa at the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI), Dr. Fomunyoh organized and advised delegations of international observers for national elections in Benin, Cameroon, Republic of Central in Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Liberia, Madagascar, Mali, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.
He also directed the programs of technical assistance to civil society organizations, political parties and legislatures in countries such as Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cote d’Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Conakry, Liberia, Mali, Madagascar, Niger, Nigeria, Gambia, Senegal and Togo. His responsibilities led him to regularly rub shoulders with heads of state and government, ministers, elected representatives and political and civic leaders. In 2005, he designed an initiative with former African heads of state (ASI) which aimed to promote greater reflection on the challenges of democratic transitions in Africa. As Regional Director, he is the main link between Ndi and the State Department, the US Agency for International Development and other donors on African issues. He was recently invited to make statements on various African issues before the parliamentary committees of the US Congress .

As an expert on democratization in Africa, Dr. Fomunyoh regularly intervenes in BBC programs, CNN, Voice of America, Rfi and several TV stations and foreign radio stations. He is frequently quoted in the New York Times, Washington Post, Washington Times, Le Monde and the International Herald Tribune. Dr. Fomunyoh frequently travel in Africa, Europe, and North America.

He is fluently bilingual in English and French.He holds a Law Degree from the University of Yaoundé in Cameroon, a Master’s degree (LL.M.) in International Law from the prestigious Harvard University, and a PhD in Political Science from the Boston University. Dr. Fomunyoh is associated with the Strategic Studies Center for Africa and former visiting professor of African politics and government at Georgetown University. NDI is a non-governmental, non-profit organization established in 1983 by an Act of Congress to strengthen and promote democratic institutions and political pluralism in emerging democracies worldwide.
