POPULAR radio and television personality, Ruvheneko Parirenyatwa rejected her new appointment and has, instead, resigned from AB Communications on Monday.
Popularly known as Ruvhi, she was controversially moved from ZiFM Stereo to Mighty Movies.
Despite her undisputed prowess, Ruvheneko was this week moved from being the ZiFM programmes manager to an unclear position in the video production house Mighty Movies, a subsidiary company for AB Communications which owns the radio station.
Ruvheneko, who had been frustrated by her working conditions at ZiFM, then tendered her resignation to ABC Communications chief executive officer, Susan Makore.
The resignation letter is dated October 31 and she offered to serve her notice and leave work on December 15.

“As you know, a few months ago, I had informally requested in conversation that I would rather move to Mighty Movies than to stay at ZiFM Stereo.
“This was in direct response to the continued frustrating working environment that I have experienced at ZiFM Stereo in the past 10 months; experiences you are well aware of,” reads part of the resignation letter
Ruvheneko, who hosts My Future on ZTV, said the move to Mighty Movies made sense but unfortunately she was not happy about it.
“Coincidentally, My Future is in television so this move made sense to us all.
“I note that you’ve offered me this very opportunity through a lateral move in management to Mighty Movies, commencing November 1 2016, but as much as I appreciate this, I humbly decline your offer.
“Appreciating that the media space in Zimbabwe is very small, I trust that we will remain close and I hope that AB Communications will always be a reference point for me and that you know that I am only one call away.
“I wish AB Communications dominance, innovation, favour, excellence and all round success in this exciting new season,” she added.
While the ZiFM leadership would argue that it is the station that made her, there are those who believe Ruvheneko helped make the station popular especially on current affairs.
Her talk show, Platform, was undoubtedly the most popular among local radio stations and ZiFM has never been the same since she was dropped from the programme amid controversy after a show involving Pastor Evan Mawarire.
Ruvheneko becomes the fifth high profile personality to leave ZiFM over the past month after Simbarashe Kaparipari popularly known as DJ Eskay, Samantha Nozihlobo Ndlovu affectionately known as Zihlo, Kundayi Chiyanike, Farai Mwakutuya and Candice Mwakalyelye left to pursue different career paths.
There’s been a major shake-up at ZiFM, which saw its manager Tendai Madondo being moved to becoming managing director of the regional radio stations Hevoi FM in Masvingo and 98:4FM in Gweru.
Tonderai “TK” Katsande, who hosts The Ignition with MisRed, becomes the acting station manager.
Gilbert Muponda is now the group’s Chief Operating Officer.
