Most of you should remember the incredible sculpture that Kanye West produced for the music video of his track “Famous.” Featuring everyone naked, including George W. Bush, Donald Trump, Anna Wintour, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Ray J, Amber Rose, Caitlyn Jenner, Bill Cosby, and of course Taylor Swift, the video created a lot of controversy when it released earlier this year.
West replaced pop culture icons and controversial public figures with Vincent Desiderio’s anonymous people in his iconic work “Sleep.” The world certainly overreacted to the art piece. We analyzed possible inspiration behind the work and now it turns out that a sculpture has in fact been created for the video and that sculpture is on display at a Los Angeles gallery. The unveiling took place yesterday with Kim Kardashian and a robot Kanye West, who joined the unveiling live through a robot screen.
Los Angeles gallery Blum & Poe hosted the unveiling of the sculpture last night. Find some impressions from the exhibition and private viewing here above, as well as here below.
