The third edition of the Zimdancehall Awards comes to live tonight at LongCheng Plaza in the capital where the genre musicians will be honored in various categories.

The awards will see the ghetto legend, Mbare-based chanter Killer T battling it out with Winky D with whom he is dominating the nominees list in some top categories such as best song of the year, best album of the year, best social message of the year among others.

Organizers of the show, Phineas Mushayi said they are hoping the award ceremony will live up to its expectations covering up for the previous years’ which have recieved negative criticism from both artists and fans.

“I can promise you that we have the best performers who will light up the event, there will be lots of fun as there are exciting categories with fierce competition,” Mushayi said.

Hosting the night’s show will be comedian Doc Vikela and Carol Gore and top radio personalities are set to grace the event.

It’s different vibes this year for Tocky Vibes and Seh Calaz who together with Winky D dominated the awards last year. Other musicians who are keeping their fingers crossed for tonight are Soul Jah Love, Bounty Lisa, Lady Squander, Ninja Lipsy, Doba Don and Spider Man.

Launched in 2013, Zim Dancehall Awards strive to honour, talent, authenticity, hardwork and commitment which would have been exhibited by Zim Dancehall genre artists ranging from Djs, Producers, Managers, Promoters and stake holders.
