In a love fight  a teen girl allegedly poisoned and stabbed a classmate in a furious row over a love rival.

The 15-year-old wanted to "eliminate" the girl who was also eyeing up her crush at school, a court heard.

She is said to have lured the alleged victim – also 15 – to her home before giving her juice mixed with windscreen washer fluid.She brutally stabbed the girl with a kitchen knife after blindfolding her and asking her to lie down, a lawyer said.

The defendant then stabbed her rival in the chest and back as she cried for help, he told a court.

She allegedly died on the scene last April suffering from 16 stab wounds, officials in Seinajoki, Finland said.

The trial began November 17 at the Ostrobothnia District Court.

Prosecutor Kimmo Lampinen said the defendant – who hasn't been named – began planning the murder around a month before.

She searched poisonous substances including oven cleaner, ethanol and petrol on Google, he said last week.

EVIDENCE: She exchanged messages on WhatsApp

Lampinen also claimed she exchanged WhatsApp messages with her pals about her crush spending time with another girl.

She allegedly wrote: "I'm sure he's interested in her. Because it seems like it. I can't take it, if that's the case. I'll probably go and shoot her next."

She denies the murder charges but admits manslaughter.
