HARARE – The Zanu PF Politburo has resolved to expel former Vice President Joice Teurai Ropa Mujuru from the party for alleged indiscipline.
The Politburo meeting, which ended this evening at the Zanu (PF) headquarters in Harare, resolved to expel Mujuru and to uphold the votes of no confidence handed to some party members prior to last year’s congress.
Mujuru was fired from government after the party’s December Congress, and stands accused of leading a faction that wanted to depose President Robert Mugabe. It was even alleged she had plotted to assassinate Mugabe but tellingly has not been arrested.
Other party members, among them Didymus Mutasa, Rugare Gumbo, Jabulani Sibanda and Temba Mliswa have since been expelled from Zanu PF. The First Lady Grace Mugabe, reported to battling colon cancer attended the Politburo meeting. ZBC
