In the wake of the recent spate of xenophobic attacks in parts of South Africa, particularly in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng, it has emerged that controversial Nigerian pastor TB Joshua may have predicted the attacks.

According to his official Facebook page, Joshua gave a prophetic warning to South Africa about a serious revolt led by young people, which would result in the loss of lives at his congregation in July last year.
According to his official Facebook page, Joshua gave a prophetic warning to South Africa about a serious revolt led by young people, which would result in the loss of lives at his congregation in July last year.
In a video where Joshua is seen sharing his prophecy, he urges his congregation to pray for South Africa because he sees a youth revolt in the country.

“It will be very serious. A situation where youth will come out …You learn that there is a protest here. Some people were killed – certain people. Revolt in South Africa,” Joshua says.

This follows the growing incidents of xenophobic attacks, which started in KwaZulu-Natal last week and have since spread to Gauteng, leaving at least six people dead.

On Friday, a number of vehicles were torched and shops of foreign nationals were vandalised and looted in Jeppestown, Johannesburg. Some foreign nationals sought refuge at the Cleveland Police Station.

In Durban, nine people were arrested for illegal gathering, which happened during a peace and reconciliation anti-xenophobia march on Thursday.

According to police, about 10 000 people took part in the march, which was organised by the KwaZulu-Natal provincial government and was aimed at condemning the recent violence directed against foreigners over the past week. - Caxton News Service
