TV personality Bridget Masinga and her businessman husband Thabiso Khati have called it quits.

In a short statement, the couple confirmed their break-up after five years of matrimony. They filed for divorce late last year, citing irreconcilable differences as cause for their split.

Masinga is quoted as saying there was no bad blood between them.

"As much as T [Khati] and I remain friends who still chuckle at silly things, we've come to the realisation that we were better off as Platonic friends than we were as a married couple. And so we made the decision to release each other from the binds of marriage," she said.

Khati refused to elaborate on the divorce.

"I have nothing to add, I agree with the statement issued, it captures everything," he said.

The couple officially separated in 2014, shortly after filing for divorce.

Masinga and Khati started dating in 2007 before tying the knot in January 2009. The couple don't have children.

Khati's music stable Cashtime Life is home to hip-hop star K.O and Nomuzi Mabena.

Masinga, a Miss SA second runner-up in 2002 is a sought-after MC and a former Generations star. She has also featured in Rockville and Isibaya.
