A woman who pretended to be pregnant has been arrested for luring a pregnant woman to her house and cutting her womb open to steal the baby.

In what has been described as one of the most brutal attack in history, a 26-year-old pregnant woman has been attacked and stabbed in the stomach, with the unborn baby cut out of her.

According to News Sky, the victim who was seven months pregnant, had gone to the suspect's house to buy baby clothes after seeing an ad on Craigslist placed by her attacker who has been identified as Dynel Catrece Lane.

Police officers said they responded to an emergency calls to the residence and were shocked to find the woman had been beaten and stabbed in the stomach by the attacker, using broken glass and a knife to cut the foetus from the victim’s womb.

The Longmont police released audio of the victim telling a dispatcher:

"She cut me downstairs. I'm pregnant. My stomach. I'm bleeding out."

According to court documents, the suspect had told her own family she was pregnant and actually wanted to take out the baby and show her family that she had put to bed.

After the attack, Lane took the dead baby to the hospital and told doctors she had a miscarriage.

Lane was arrested at the hospital on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and child abuse-knowingly and recklessly resulting in death.
