Under fire Zim Dancehall artist, Tocky Vibes says Superstar Oliver Mtukudzi has forgiven him for refusing to play at Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex late last year.
Tocky was lambasted from all quarters after he refused to play at the concert saying the crowd was ‘too small’ for him
“Mudhara Tuku talked to me, saying he had accepted my apology, he then advised me to be always clean in all I shall do for the good of the Arts Industry.
The youthful singer who has been hogging the limelight, albeit negatively, of late said he values advice he has been getting from his seniors who have been in the game for a while.
He said that Sungura King, Alick Macheso had also given him some very good advice, particularly on using a live band. “This is the best move you have taken of using a live band, usiye zvekufamba neband muhomwe sevamwe vasingaterere. That’s what Mudhara Macheso told me,” Tocky said.
He also said that he got the chance to meet and have a word with South African artist, Nkuli, daughter of the late reggae icon, Lucky Dube.
” I was so touched(when I visited South Africa) when Lucky Dube’s daughter asked for permission to have a chat with me. We talked about life and music in general for three hours at the Baseline(club) where she fell in love with my voice,’ he said.
