A burglar who had broke into a house was so tempted when he saw a half naked woman lying on a bed that he attempted to get into her pants.
Joseph Bandama of Hippo Valley appeared before Chiredzi Resident Magistrate Tayengwa Chibanda facing two charges; one of stealing a cellphone and another of fondling and attempting to make love to Tsitsi Tafirei.
Bandama had unlawfully entered into a house at around midnight and stole a cellphone. However, just before he left he noticed a half-naked woman lying on top of a bed and could not resist the temptation to fondle and make love to her.
He fondled the woman and just as he was about to pull down the undergarments his victim woke up and screamed. Bandama appeared before Chiredzi Resident Magistrate Tayengwa Chibanda this week.
The State led by Doubt Phiri told the court that on December 11 at Citrus Cottage in Hippo Valley and at around midnight Bandama unlawfully entered into Ottilia Maramwidze`s house and stole a Samsung E2220 cellphone and before he left the house he saw Tsitsi Tafirei a maid who was sleeping in the room.
Tsitsi was half naked and Bandama started to fondle her but she woke up when Bandama was about to remove her undergarments. Tsitsi screamed and Bandama ran away locking the door from outside.
Under cross examination, Bandama claimed that he was in love with Tsitsi and was about to recover money he had given her, a claim which was denied by both Tsitsi and her employer Ottilia Maramwidze who said her maid was new to the place and only started working for her on December 1, 2014 while Bandama claimed they were in love since October 2014.
