MARGAO: A five-year-old girl was raped by three minor boys, separately and repeatedly over the last one month. Quepem police on Wednesday apprehended all three juveniles, aged 9, 12 and 15, and remanded them to the children's protective home, Apna Ghar, at Merces, after their medical examination.

Police sources said the survivor belongs to the lower strata of Goan society, while the accused minors are learnt to be staying in her neighbourhood that falls within the jurisdiction of the Quepem police station.

Sources said the three accused would separately go to the minor girl's house and sexually abuse her. The victim's saga continued for nearly a month. The incident came to light after the girl complained of pain in her abdomen to her parents, following which she disclosed the facts.

Quepem police have booked the case under Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code. Further investigations are under way. timesofindia.indiatimes.com
