When the minor entered the room, he questioned her about the person she was with in the toilet. She explained that the boy was her friend and had been waiting for her outside.

The man waited until the daughter finished eating supper and ordered her to prepare her bed in the kitchen. After that, the man came in, locked the door and sat on the bench.

He started questioning the minor again, accusing her of having s*xual intercourse with her boyfriends.

The man suggested conducting virginity test on her, but she refused.

He forcibly undressed her, inserting his finger into her private parts. The man also switched off the lights, increasing the volume of the radio and raped her. She cried out but no one heard her.

After the offence, he retired to his room and the girl went to school the following morning. When she returned, she packed her clothes and went to her mother’s residence where she revealed the abuse.

The matter was reported to the police leading to the man’s arrest.

Appearing before Chitungwiza magistrate Lazarus Murendo, the man was not asked to plead to aggravated indecent assault and rape charges.

He was remanded in custody to June 13. Tendai Mukariri prosecuted.
