22-year-old Stephanie Seabury of Delaware, taught at Fred Fifer III Middle School in Camden, Kent County, when she began romancing her 13-year-old student.
The incident came to light when the boy bragged to friends about his relationship with the teacher. When school officials learned of the teacher’s inappropriate behavior they called police.
Police seized school surveillance footage and saw the teacher leaving school together with the teen. The two were seen getting into the teacher’s car and driving off.
Seabury allegedly took the boy to her apartment where they had sex on numerous occasions, according to police. The two had also exchanged numerous explicit phone messages and photographs, according to the police press release.
Seabury was charged with sexual abuse by a person in a position of trust or authority. Her bond was set at $40,000.
