A security officer is expected to appear before the Bamenda military tribunal today for allegedly raping a 17-year old girl in Bamenda on Monday.
The security officer, said to be a certain Arthur Mbida reportedly dragged away the 17-year old lactating mother at a check point for not possessing a national identification card before taking her to a filling station where she was allegedly raped, the survivor recounted.
A video that went viral on social media on Monday show the 17-year old lactating mother in pains as she narrated her ordeal to residents in Bamenda.

Monday’s event is the latest in a series of alleged rights violation by Cameroon’s security forces. The government of Cameroon has been forced to deny claims by Amnesty International that Cameroonian soldiers shot two women and children alleged to be Boko Haram members in a viral video in the Far North region of Cameroon.
Meanwhile the State Prosecutor at the Yaounde military tribunal recently told journalducameroun.com that security officers have been detained in connection to rights violation to the North West and South West Region Regions of Cameroon.
