Home Affairs Minister Obert Mpofu has said the appointment of Emmerson Mnangagwa as the interim president and first secretary of Zanu PF will rejuvenate the party.
He said Zanu-PF is stronger now.
"This will have a monumental impact on the party... We have seen democracy, ...with the opening of the new page, the party is stronger," Mpofu said.
Mpofu also said Robert Mugabe had been a leader for a long time and they owe a lot to him and it was a sad day for the party that he had to depart.
ZANU PF resolved to remove Mugabe as party leader and first secretary following an extraordinary Central Committee session on Sunday (today).
