The Cameroonian police defused a homemade bomb this Friday morning in Bamenda, the main protest city of the North West region.


The bomb was defused shortly after 7am (6 am GMT) at the campus of Bamenda Presbyterian Secondary School, by police officers on duty.

The machine, we learn, was hidden in a plastic bag.

This morning's failed attack attributed to the Southern Cameroon National Council's (SCNC) armed wing comes after a homemade bomb explosion near the Mobile Response Group, (GMI, a specialized police unit) of Bamenda. And, after the one that made three wounded in the ranks of the police a few days earlier.

The homemade bomb attacks are now the modus operandi of the SCNC activists, who are no longer followed in their calls by the people.
