Two months ago, the relationship between Bev and Andy Muridzo was the talk of the country as bit by bit, details of their illicit se_x acts began leaking to the public.
What made news of the relationship all the more surprising was that it was coming from the proverbial horses’ mouth, as raunchy detail by raunchy detail, Bev and Muridzo took turns to wash their dirty laundry in public.
“Yes, I’m pregnant and it’s two months. I also heard of the rumours Andy Muridzo is the father yes, he is the one responsible. I started feeling something awkward and I decided to do the tests,” said Bev.
“Since I started dating him we never used protection, tairovana ny** yakadaro since March last year, I had DP Depo Provera for five years so I wasn’t aware that it expired. I then checked my dates only to realise that it expired recently,” he said.
Although he was less graphic, Muridzo was also not hesitant with some explicit details of what he had been doing between the sheets. His wife also seemed to be at ease with Bev’s claims.
“She should give birth and give us the child. I dealt with this Bev issue last year and I am over it. So anything regarding Bev will not affect me anymore,” she said.
Now two months on, the names Bev and Andy Muridzo are no longer the gossip fodder that they were in January.
For one thing, Zimbabwe’s most notorious dancer hasn’t made any more noise about the child that she expected to come from her brief fling with Muridzo.
Even her manager, a man that usually talks on her behalf and takes care of all her bookings, professes ignorance of the bun that Bev might have cooking in her oven.
“Bev has a show at Private Lounge next week so if you want to see if she’s pregnant or not come and see for yourself.
As it stands I also don’t know whether she is expecting a child or not so with that being the case I will leave for you to judge,” said her manager Harpers Mapimhidze when quizzed about how his charge was still performing when her pregnancy was supposed to be in its fifth month.
When the scandal broke, some naysayers had claimed that the alleged affair had been cooked up as a publicity stunt by the two’s respective camps.

The fact that the story broke just a few weeks away from the launch of Muridzo’s album would also be of interest to conspiracy theorists who argue that Bev was never with child in the first place.
Last week, Muridzo went home $11 000 richer after the sale of a few copies of his recent album, Tichambotenderera, at a launch that was held at Harare’s 7 Arts.
If in the next few weeks and months, Bev continues with her raunchy stage act with no noticeable change, some might begin to wonder when it’s all said and done if she was ever pregnant and if she was, what she did with the pregnancy.
