A Harare based paper had to download Lumumba tape video from his mobile phone before publishing it. Acie Lumumba feels that this was illegally done as the tape was taken from his house by police officers who came without a search warrant.
Lumumba has openly admitted that he is the man filmed in the 5 minute video. Lumumba believes that Zanu PF, Zimbabwe Police and a local tabloid are behind the tape leak.

Lumumba has warned that he will not be silenced by the sex tape as feels that it has nothing to do with his political career.
Women activists in opposition parties have however failed to see why Acie Lumumba should be forgiven for his actions.
They feel that the tape is a clear sign of his disrespect for women. The young lady in the film may not have consented to the recording and people have questions about Lumumba’s attitude to women.
