Ousted Miss Zimbabwe 2015 Emily Kachote has distanced herself from a Facebook page in her name that is posting nude pictures and political statements.
Kachote, who was recently axed as the national beauty queen for allegedly posing for naked pictures, told the Daily News that the Facebook page going under the name Emily Tatanga Kachote that was created in May, had nothing to do with her.
“I am not on Facebook; I deleted my account when I was crowned.
“Last week, my friend called me informing me of the nude pictures that were being posted under my name and I decided to just ignore it,” said Kachote.
“But I can no longer keep quiet as whoever is running that page is posting politics and that is dangerous.
“I am not a political person and keeping quiet will only make it look like I am the one posting those things. So I decided to report the matter to Marlborough police.”
The Miss Harare 2011 said the Facebook page was meant to dupe Zimbabweans.
“For the sake of my image and my fans who are being misled, I wish to disassociate myself from the fake Facebook page in my name Emily Tatanga Kachote with over 5 407 followers.
“I wish to denounce the fake account and urge my followers to unlike the page,” she told the Daily News.
“Fraudsters are still in the business of duping innocent fans on Facebook and people are still very much falling for them.
“If I have to pass any message to the good people of Zimbabwe, I know how to go about it with no controversy.
“Let me say that, nemesis will catch up with anyone doing this with the sole aim of tarnishing my image.
“It is illegal and criminal. This is why I have reported this matter to the Zimbabwe Republic Police and I have also approached Facebook to take it down.”
One post that has infuriated Kachote dated June 20 reads:
“And it’s higher time for all those Power Hungry Mongers like RG Mugabe, Morgan Tsvangirai, Tendai Biti, Mnangagwa, Mujuru, Chinamasa, Jonathan Moyo etc to step Aside and give Chance to others.
“It’s so refreshing to work with someone who’ll throw a saddle on a gift horse rather than look it in the mouth.”
Another post dated June 19 reads, “I have taken nude photos of myself and sent them to lovers. I’ve taken nude photos of myself when I’m bored.
“I’ve taken nude photos just because I have a smart phone and it’s fun.
“None of that means I have asked for my privacy to be violated. Consent is everything.”
