A NYANGA woman Thursday last week committed suicide after she suspected that her husband was having a sexual relationship with her cousin-sister.
Beauty Shingirayi of Bende Village under Chief Saunyama, 23, consumed poison and died on her way to Nyanga hospital.
On the fateful day, Shingirayi had a heated argument with her husband Trymore Mavhungwa, 25, accusing him of having an affair with her cousin-sister, Christine Dzinduwa, who resides in the same village.
Shingirayi is reported to have told her husband that she had been suspecting for too long and now it was time for her to know the truth.
During the misunderstanding, it is said, Dzinduwa arrived at the couple homestead but Mavhungwa still denied that he had an adulterous relationship with her.
Later during the day Shingirayi, who could not stomach this suspected relationship, took her own life by drinking poison.
Manicaland police spokesperson, Inspector Enock Chishiri, confirmed the incident and urged members of the public to seek counselling to avoid suicide.
