THE Zanu PF Midlands provincial executive committee has resolved to expel former minister in the vice president's office Flora Buka and provincial minister, Jason Mashaya.

A provincial meeting held last Thursday resolved to expel Buka who lost her ministerial post after the party's congress on allegations of being part of a the group working with former vice president Joice Mujuru to oust President Robert Mugabe.

Machaya, the former provincial party chair for Midlands was kicked out of the party's leadership corridors on charges of working with Mujuru to topple the ageing Mugabe.
Two former ministers face expulsion.
In moving the resolution, the provincial executive said Buka, Machaya and current Industry deputy minister Iris Mabuwa should be expelled as they are "still active in the gamatox faction and still plotting to oust Mugabe".

"We have resolved, as a province, to recall these people from parliament and have their membership re-looked at by the politburo.

“We strongly believe they are better out of the party than remaining with us," said Kizito Chivamba, the acting chairman of the province.

Other people targeted for the purge include mines deputy minister, Fred Moyo, Mberengwa MP Tafanana Zhou, Gokwe MP Dorothy Mangaami and Kwekwe central legislator Blackman Matambanadzo.

The MPs are set to be suspended for five years, all on allegations of being part of the Mujuru faction.

If the move by the province sails through in the party’s politburo, it means that there will be more by-elections for a cash-strapped state which is battling to pay its workers and has already scrapped bonuses.

Besides in Midlands province, Harare has also drawn up its list of those targeted for expulsion -among them former chair, Amos Midzi, Tendai Savanhu and Varaidzo Mupunga.

Mashonaland East too has a list of those it wants fired from the party with names such as Olivia Muchena, Ray Kaukonde and Simbaneuta Mudariki being targeted.

Mujuru's home province also wants David Butau expelled and has put Nicholas Goche under watch to see if he is still active in the alleged plot to kill Mugabe.
