Two young teenagers were arrested last week in the U.K. on suspicion of preparing acts of terrorism, Manchester police said Sunday.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested on Thursday in Blackburn, Lancashire, by local police and members of the North West Counter Terrorism Unit.

Police said they executed a warrant at the Blackburn address “following the examination of a number of electronic devices.”

On Friday, anti-terrorism police and officers with the Tactical Aid Unit then executed a warrant at a house in Longsight, a inner-city suburb in Manchester.

Police then arrested a 16-year-old girl on suspicion of engaging in conduct in preparation for acts of terrorism.

The pair have both been bailed until May 28, police said.

Police said the arrests were not linked to the detention of nine British people, including four children, who were stopped in a Turkish border city last week while allegedly trying to make their way to Syria.

Six British citizens were also arrested in the port city of Dover on Friday night on suspicion of terror offences related to the ongoing conflict in Syria. Buzz Feed.
