EFF leader Julius Malema on Tuesday dismissed President Jacob Zuma's son Edward and his demand for a public apology with a curt response that he doesn't "speak to children".

The younger Zuma is insisting that Malema apologises for comments made in Parliament recently claiming that the president has lost control of his family, and that Edward endorsed the killing of foreign nationals.

Zuma told News24 that if Malema does not apologise he will take him to court for defamation of character.

Zuma junior said the Economic Freedom Fighters leader should retract his statements made during Parliament where he took him, Edward, to task for his anti-xenophobia sentiments.

Malema reportedly lashed out at President Jacob Zuma saying: "You have lost control of the country, because you have lost control of your own family."

He was quoted as having told President Zuma that “your own son continues to say these people must be killed. You stand up here and say nothing."

“I want him to tell me and the nation where did I say that people must be killed. He must tell us how my father has failed to control us otherwise I am going to sue him for defamation of character,” said Edward Zuma.

“He told Parliament that I said people must be killed. I never said that. I want a public apology for the comments he made in Parliament.”

The president’s son said if Malema wanted to challenge him, he should come to him directly and not talk about him in public.

“If he wants to face me, he must come out and face me as a man and not use the president.”

Malema simply said he “does not have time nor does he care about Edward Zuma”.“I don’t have time for kids. He must call me when he wants to talk about his father, President Jacob Zuma. I don’t have time for this,” said Malema before ending the call abruptly. News 24
