President Mugabe, who is accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, was seen off at the Harare International Airport by Vice Presidents Emmerson Mnangagwa and Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko, cabinet ministers, senior government officials and service chiefs.

The SADC Chairperson will as an aside meet other heads of state, Chairperson of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security (Troika), South African President Jacob Zuma and Botswana President Seretse Ian Khama as the regional bloc seeks solutions to Lesotho's problems.

Lesotho goes to the polls on the 28th of February and SADC wants an environment suitable for the holding of a free and fair election a reality that is yet to be seen in Zimbabwe since the 1980 plebsiscite.

On arrival in South Africa, Mugabe has made frantic efforts to dialogue with the leadership of the MDC T Youth Assembly but he received a shoulder colder than he expected.

Security aides who spoke on condition of anonymity echoed the same sentiment that the senile dictator’s mission was to see off the LAST SUPPER as arranged by the Tsvangirai youths.

Tinashe Chifamba did not want to comment much on the Mugabe attempt to be part of the LAST SUPPER nor his conceited efforts to bribe the youths to abandon the arrangement. Diamond Tapiwa Chadya, a lawyer by training who speaks for the youths in South Africa dismissed Mugabe’s trip as a failed project, “ How can Mugabe waste state resources coming to try engage us when he forced us to abandon our country? His attempt to bribe us with promises of money, farms and other luxuries will never stand in our resolve to show Mugabe the middle finger.”

Joel Marere, a Youth Leader who spoke to this reporter as was at King Shaka International Airport in Durban stood his ground, “ I am just about to fly to Johannesburg enroute to Pretoria for the LAST SUPPER. I understand that a number of our leaders have been approached by the regime in a bid to derail the LAST SUPPER but I am happy we are going forward with our plans. As the provincial treasurer I am happy that we have managed to raise enough resources and I am impressed with the work done. My colleague Vimbai Mavherudze who is in Pretoria has done an excellent job and we are on track despite the fact that the despot is already in South Africa .”

The LAST SUPPER was organized by the MDC T Youths in South Africa and will be held at the Zimbabwe Embassy in Pretoria on Saturday 21 February to mark the day of Mugabe’s birth. The Zimbabwe government have since recognized the LAST SUPPER and have since its mooted celebrations to the 28 of February as a belated event.
