THIS worried mum wants a primary school principal to be fired for stripping her son while other pupils watched. Sources said this happened at a primary school in Vryheid last week.
The 45-year-old mother, who can’t be named, said: “I don’t want him near my kids. He has shown he doesn’t respect other people’s dignity.”
Sources said the grade 7 pupil suspected a 14-year-old classmate after he lost his R20 pocket money. He reported this to the principal, who told the other pupils to leave the classroom.
“The principal asked the classmate (14) where the money was, but the boy said he didn’t take it,” said a teacher who can’t be named.
“The principal ordered him to take his clothes off, but the boy refused. The principal then undressed him. Other pupils were outside watching through the windows.
“Kids came running to the staffroom to tell us what the principal had done.
“When we went to the classroom, we found the pupil naked and the principal shouting at him, asking where he had hidden the money. He did not find the money, but did not apologise to the boy for violating his privacy.
“We plan to hold a meeting with him and have him apologise to this poor boy.
Education spokesman Muzi Mahlambi said: “If this allegation is true, we will take action.”
