There was a rumpus on Saturday at Ster Kinekor, Westgate, during the première of the movie “50 Shades of Grey” as models engaged in raunchy dirty dancing.
The controversial movie which features renowned Hollywood actors Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson premièred in many countries on the same date, but at different times.
After the première, some viewers said the movie should be banned because of its explicit scenes. Videos of the raunchy dancers in their sexy lingerie went viral on social media with some criticising their moves.
“We understand we are living in the modern world but what they did was too much yet their bodies are not appealing. I am disappointed with this act. We know movie premières go with theme but the models went overboard and they should be taken to disciplinary because they breached the contract on what they were supposed to do,” said one fan Pamela from Bluff Hill.
However, Westgate Ster Kinekor management said that was not part of the agreement.
“We condemn such behaviour. We were surprised to see the models changing the drill of which this wasn’t part of the plan. It is unfortunate but it wasn’t our intention to have our patrons view such. However, we do apologise for the scenario. We disown everything that was performed on stage,” read a statement from the management.
Fresh Media apologised for the scene.
“The models got excited and went way beyond. We are very sorry for what happened, “ said Jerry Makawa of Fresh Media.
