Tendai Mugabe in Dotito
Vice President Joice Mujuru has lashed out at some Zanu-PF leaders who are allegedly making clandestine manoeuvres for certain positions which they do not deserve ahead of the party’s December congress, saying the party will not hesitate to bring them down. She said there were no short cuts in Zanu-PF when it comes to leadership.
VP Mujuru was addressing scores of Zanu-PF supporters gathered at Dotito High School in Mount Darwin to receive goodies donated by the party’s national chairman Cde Simon Khaya Moyo under the National Chairman’s Charity Fund.
She said there were some people in Zanu-PF who were over ambitious and given an option they even wanted to overtake the party’s First Secretary President Mugabe.
“Party haitungamirirwi nevanhu vasingazivi kwayakabva,” she said. “Party inotungamirirwa nevanoziva zvitevedzwa, zviyerwa zvemusangano iwoyo. Ivavo unovaona kana vanzi pindai masvetukiro avanoita kuda kuenda pamberi kunge vachadarika naVaMugabe vacho chaivo.
“Nemukanwa makachonjomara unomunzwa futi. Musina kana respect. Musangano weZanu-PF musangano unotevedza tsika dzedu nemazvo. Hauna short cut, uye hatinyare kukuti gara pasi. Tinokugadzika nyangwe wakakura kusvika kupi. Unogara.”
VP Mujuru said Zanu-PF was not a fly-by-night party. She said the party made ultimate sacrifices during the war to liberate the country. Zanu-PF is heading for its elective National People’s Congress in December and preparations have already started, with the holding of the youth and women’s congresses next month.
VP Mujuru said Zimbabwe was experiencing difficulties because of Westerners who sabotaged the economy through ESAP and denying the country lines of credit.
She said although the country was being punished, people remained resolute supporting Zanu-PF and President Mugabe.
VP Mujuru took time to explain the country’s economic blueprint, Zim-Asset and its benefits. In line with Zim-Asset, VP Mujuru called for beneficiation of the country’s resources. She said that would help to create employment for the youths.
“Ngavauye (foreign companies) kuno vaite cotton industry paDotito, imwe kuShamva, imwe kwaMuzarabani kunozobva machira oyenda kunoitwa zvimwe kunana Harare,” she said.
“Zvinoita kuti tirege kumira mari, mabasa evana vedu achibuda mudistrict medu. Ndizvo zviri kureva Zim-Asset.”
VP Mujuru said Government wanted companies to develop rural areas because skilled people were not interested in working in remote areas.
VP Mujuru was supported by Cde Khaya Moyo who said Zanu-PF was not a party of positions. He said positions do not just come but people should work for them.
“Zanu-PF is a revolutionary party,” he said. “We must be seen to exercise unity every moment. We are not a party yezvigaro, party yaunongomuka uchirota uchirotera zvigaro.
“Nhasi ndoda chigaro chakati, chigaro chakati. Wamboshanda here? Iparty inoda munhu akashinga . . .So let us avoid nyaya yekungomhanyira mhanyira zvigaro. Zvinoshandirwa.”
Cde Khaya Moyo also urged civil servants to work hard for the betterment of the country. He said he was the patron of the National Chairman’s Charity Fund which was founded in 2011.
Cde Khaya Moyo said since its establishment in 2011, the Fund had made five donations. He said he would move around the country making similar donations.
Among the donated goods were clothes, food stuffs and wheel chairs among other things. Zanu-PF Politburo member Cde Saviour Kasukuwere who also attended the gathering said there was unity in the province adding that he was fully behind VP Mujuru.
The meeting was also attended by Politburo members Cdes Nicholas Goche, Tendai Savanhu, Alice Chimbudzi and Minister of State for Mashonaland Central Provincial Affairs Cde Martin Dinha.
