THE South Africa-based preacher infamous for
making his congregants eat grass, Pastor Lesego Daniel of Rabboni Centre
Ministries is expected in Bulawayo for a two-day crusade next month.
The pastor from Pretoria courted controversy early this year when he told his church to go and eat grass because “this is what God wants” them to do.
In a telephone interview from Pretoria, an official from Rabboni Centre Ministries who identified himself as Pastor Matloudi confirmed to Radio Dialogue that Daniel will be in Bulawayo between March 5 and 7 at the Amphitheatre.
“He will be in Zimbabwe where he will conduct a crusade for two days and then an all-night prayer after that,” said the pastor. According to a report in African Spotlight, Daniel had his followers eating grass after explaining in a sermon that Jesus had many other disciples other than the 12 listed in the Bible who were doing new things considered unconventional at the time as well.
Defending his actions in the media later, he said: “Okay the Bible teaches us one thing. The kingdom of God is not a matter of talk, it’s a matter of power.“Paul says the Holy Spirit will confirm everything that I say, you get it? So it’s total demonstration of power, nothing else but demonstration.”
As Reported By My Zimbabwe
Pastor Lesego Daniel whose church is situated at zone 2 Ga-Rankuwa, north of Pretoria in South Africa grabbed headlines last month when he instructed members of his church to eat grass so as to get closer to God. As is that is not enough, he went on to step on them with his full weight and big shoe before hordes of the church members fell ill and had running stomachs.
It is reported that the controversial man of God has been billed to conduct a 2-day miracle crusade in Zimbabwe next month. The 'grass eating pastor', as the world now refer to hi as, will be in Bulawayo from the 5th of March to the 7th of the same month as he will be preaching at Bulawayo's Amphiotheatre on the 6th and 7th of March.
An official from his church has reportedly confirmed that their senior pastor will be in Zimbabwe for the said crusade.
"He will be in Zimbabwe where he will conduct a crusade for two days and then an all-night prayer after that," said the pastor Matloudi.
Pastor Lesego Daniel has 'powers' to perform stunning miracles, according to sources in South Africa. On the day he ordered his followers to eat grass, he reportedly commanded them to sleep and it is reportedly that six of the congregants fell asleep immediately.
"You can leave them like this for six months. I love this; I don't want to be bored. You can even make police go to sleep when they come to arrest you," the pastor said after the congregants had fallen asleep.
His controversial methods have drawn criticism from thousands of people although members of his congregation swear by his methods - he is said to have claimed that humans can eat anything to feed their bodies and survive on whatever they choose to eat.
